Biden’s Legacy

August 19, 2021

I can’t believe it’s been twenty years. This was never going to end well but the scope and depth of this man made tragedy is breathtaking.

Full disclosure. I supported W’s decision to initiate the Global War on Terror and invade Afghanistan to capture the person responsible for killing 3,000 of our citizens in an unprovoked attack. After the horror of 9/11 emotions were high and I felt that he had tried everything to resolve this in a peaceful manner. But unfortunately we went in and immediately started trying to invent a new country instead of accomplishing the objective of killing Osama Bin Laden and getting the Hell out (if you’ll remember he was actually found residing in Pakistan).

I was 40 years young then. I would like to think that I’m older and wiser now and feel that it is time for the involvement of America in these foreign quagmires to end. Indeed, with the advances in drone and robotic technologies there is less need for boots on the ground. The loss of our young men and women and the billions of dollars spent in multiple futile attempts to create democracies in these foreign lands have taken their toll. Enough is enough.
As far as this current situation is concerned, this will be the pinnacle of incompetence in Joe Biden’s incompetent political career.
Let’s make sure he owns it.
