“When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – You may know that your society is doomed.”
Ayn Rand- Atlas Shrugged

I used to read a lot in my early teenage years. Not because I had to but because I wanted to. My favorites were written by science fiction writers such as Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein. But I also read the classics in political fiction such as Fahrenheit 451, 1984 and of course Atlas Shrugged. I don’t  categorize these books as fiction anymore.
Factoid. Did you know the Beatles song “Piggies” on the White Album was written by George Harrison after he had read Animal Farm? The line “what they need’s a Damn good whacking” came from his Mother.
It is scary how clairvoyant these writers were in predicting the future of our society. If you haven’t read these books I suggest you do so and make your kids read them as well.
Nowadays I can’t find the time to read and when I do, I’m usually asleep after a couple of paragraphs. One of these days I will tackle the stacks of books that have accumulated in my office. But for now I choose to spend my time fighting the Democrat agenda and reversing the policies we Conservatives have allowed the Progressive Socialists to impose on America over the last three decades.
